KIDS COUNT Publications

KIDS COUNT is a nationwide program of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, to collect and publicize information about the health, safety, and economic status of American children. The foundation publishes a national data book every year and also funds KIDS COUNT programs in all the states. The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) carried out the KIDS COUNT Alaska program from 1996 through 2015, publishing data books and maintaining a website.

In 2016, the program transitioned from ISER to the Alaska Children's Trust (ACT), a nonprofit organization that advocates for children. We are proud to work with the Annie E. Casey Foundation. ACT completed a program assessment that included a review of what is being done in other states, what has been done in Alaska to date, and to identify what opportunities exist for expanding the positive impacts of Kids Count.  Read the full report to learn more.  You can download all the data books using the links below:
